APRIL 16, 2015 • When picturing the most expensive places in America a few key cities automatically come to mind: New York City, Los Angeles, and really any city that has its own “Real Housewives” franchise. But according to Zillow’s newly released list of the most expensive streets in the country, Indian Creek Island Road on Florida’s Indian Creek Island takes the cake. The island, which is affectionately known as Billionaire Bunker, has a median home value of $21.48 million, considerably more than the fourteen other streets who made the list.
The ultra-exclusive island houses only 40 properties, all of which have waterfront access and oversized lots. The island’s affluent residents, including four of the richest people in the U.S., enjoy the security afforded to them by the private police force that patrols the island and its surrounding waters. And while the island may still lack some of the notoriety of other locations when it comes to luxurious living, the exclusivity and home prices of Billionaire Bunker can’t be beat.
